Watch: Fishermen Release Dolphins They Caught Accidentally In Tamil Nadu

The fishermen of Tamil Nadu worked promptly to free the dolphins from the constricting nets and take them back to the water.

Dolphins are often associated with freedom, playfulness, and joy. Witnessing a dolphin being rescued from a potentially life-threatening situation evokes a feeling of happiness and victory over adversity. A similar rescue story has come to light from Kakaladi in the Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu. Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Supriya Sahu took to X (Formerly Twitter) to share a heartening story of three dolphins being rescued after they got entangled in fishing nets accidentally. Elaborating on the situation, the IAS officer informed that local fishermen in Tamil Nadu, along with the forest team, acted promptly to save them.

Supriya Sahu even shared a video of this incident. In the clip, the fishermen can be seen working carefully to free the dolphins from the constricting nets and take them back to the water. With assistance from the foresters, the dolphin finally swims back into the sea after rigorous pushing. The IAS officer praised the efforts of the local fishermen and the forest team and announced that the individuals involved in the rescue would be honoured by the district administration for their heroic actions.

IAS Supriya Sahu wrote, “Local fishermen and Tamil Nadu Foresters safely rescued and released 3 Dolphins accidently caught in fishing nets at Kakaladi in the Ramnathapuram District. Kudos to them. They will be honoured by the District Administration.”
