Like a lot of recent Motorola budget phones, the Moto G04 will also run Android 14 software.
Motorola is gearing to launch yet another budget phone, the Moto G04, in India on February 15. That is, just a day after the Redmi A3 launch. We have an inkling, the two are probably going to be in close competition but we’ll see. The Moto G04 listing is live on Flipkart— Motorola’s official sale partner— and so, it is all but confirmed the model would be similar to what was launched recently in Europe. The phone in question retails for a starting price of Euro 199 or roughly Rs 10,650 but Motorola will most likely price it much more aggressively in India.

The Moto G04 is an entry-level smartphone boasting of a 6.6-inch 720p IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a hole punch cutout at the centre. Powering the phone is the Unisoc T606 processor and a 5,000mAh battery and 15W fast charging (it’s not unusual for Motorola to use different charging speeds for India-bound models, so we’ll have to see how this one pans out). There will be two memory configurations, 4GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB, and a choice of four “premium” colours.

Like a lot of its recent budget phones, the Moto G04 will also run Android 14 software. It will also be IP52 rated for splash resistance. At the back, it will have a sole 16-megapixel camera while on the front, we can expect a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. Rounding off the package will be a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

Moto G04 versus Redmi A3
The Redmi A3 is meanwhile launching in India on February 14 with a seemingly “butter-smooth” 90Hz display, up to 6GB of onboard RAM (plus 6GB virtual capacity), and a 5,000mAh battery with USB Type-C charging. Xiaomi is teasing a new halo design for the Redmi A3 and green is set to be the hero colour. More details are awaited.
