Apple, which appears to be gradually following the AI trend, has officially released a new model that allows users to modify photographs within photos, eliminating the need for traditional photo editing tools.

Apple researchers named it MGIE (MLLM-Guided Image Editing), and it can make adjustments with a single paragraph of simple English.
The new AI tool is capable of cropping, resizing, flipping, or adding different filters with a simple prompt. The researchers in the statement said that they have conducted studies for the effectiveness of the tool across different situations with the aim to enhance the visual appearance while maintaining competitive efficiency.
The new AI tool is available for download via GitHub, according to the company.

A demonstration of the Hugging Face Spaces is also available to users. Beyond research uses, the corporation hasn’t disclosed any details about its ambitions for the model.
There are other platforms available with similar use cases including OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 and Adobe’s Firefly AI model. However, Apple was already interested to move into the AI space and offer functionalities across the devices and one can even expect some new features in the upcoming phones.
Meanwhile, the Microsoft AI Copilot can now not only generate images but can edit images as well. For those unaware, the Microsoft AI Copilot is powered by the DALL-E 3 and can now highlight an image, add background blur and even change the art style to something like pixel art.

The subscribers can even resize and regenerate images in squares or landscapes. It is currently available in countries like Australia, India, New Zealand, the US and the UK.
