FASTag KYC: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) extended the deadline to complete KYC to 29 February. Earlier, NHAI set January 31 as the deadline to complete Know Your Customer’s process for all existing FASTag users.
Customers can update their KYC Online and offline as well. FASTag is an electronic method of collecting toll on highways which simplifies tax payment at toll plazas. Money is deducted using RFID technology from the tag installed on the windscreen of the car linked to the bank account or prepaid card.

How FASTag work
When a vehicle has a Fastag fitted on it approaches a toll plaza, the system scans the tag fixed on the vehicle’s windscreen and deducts the toll directly from the card or account linked to it. The owner needs to recharge it before using it.
How to do KYC Fastag online?
- Visit the Fastag website linked to the bank.
- Log in using your registered mobile number and OTP
- Find the ‘My Profile’ section on the home page and click on the ‘KYC’ tab.
- Fill in all the required information, next, click on ‘Submit’.

Document needed to complete FASTag KYC
- RC of the car/Vehicle
- Identity proof
- Any Address Proof
- One passport-size photo
- A voter ID card, Aadhar card, Aadhaar card, driver’s license or even PAN card can be used as ID and address proof.

Steps to check Fastag status?
- Visit fastag.ihmcl.com.
- Log in using your registered mobile number and OTP.
- Click on ‘My Profile’ on the homepage.
- Next, tap on ‘KYC Status’.
- Your KYC status will be in front of you
How To do FASTag KYC offline
You need to visit the bank. Take a KYC form, fill it and submit it. After submitting this form, the bank will verify the KYC details and update your FASTag. You need to carry the required document to do FASTag KYC offline.
