Budget 2024: FREE Electricity For People Each Month With Savings Up To Rs 18,000
New Delhi: The Interim Budget 2024 was presented before the Parliament today, on February 1, 2024 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The FM presented her sixth consecutive budget and this year, she delivered her shortest Budget Speech of just 58 minutes, which is less than an hour. Free Electricity Up To 300 Units, Savings Up To Rs 18,000
As mentioned earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her Interim Budget 2024, spoke about free electricity up to 300 units per month. She said, “Through roof-top solarisation, 1 crore households will be enabled to obtain up to 300 units of free electricity every month. This scheme follows the resolve of the Prime Minister on the historic day of the consecration of Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.” In an attempt to turn households into power generating units, the central government will focus on popularising rooftop solarisation and free electricity. She said that households will save up to Rs 15,000- Rs 18,000 from free solar power and selling to power distribution companies.
Pradhanmantri Surydaya Yojana
The Finance Minister said that the scheme follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement that the government will launch Pradhanmantri Surydaya Yojana with the target of installing rooftop solar on 1 crore houses. “This will not only reduce the electricity bill of the poor and middle class but will also make India self-reliant in the field of energy, PM Modi had said on January 22 on the historic day of Pran Prathishta of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya,” the Finance Minister said.

In her Budget Speech, FM Sitharaman also spoke about Nari Shakti, GDP – Governance, Development and Performance, strategy for Amrit Kaal, PM Awas Yojana Rural and FDI -First Develop India among other things.
