Having successfully implemented one of the world’s quickest 5G rollouts, the Indian government has now turned its attention to the next generation of telecom technology and is seeking bids for expedited research on the creation of the 6G ecosystem.

The “Bharat 5G Portal-an integrated portal,” unveiled by telecom secretary Neeraj Mittal on Tuesday, would serve as a one-stop shop for all quantum, IPR, 5G, and 6G-related projects.
After the portal was launched, Mittal stated, “India’s 5G rollout is among the fastest in the world and now, we are already talking about 6G.”
According to him, India has the second-largest telecom network globally and has “surprised” the world with its rapid development of indigenous 4G and 5G technology.
There are already one lakh startups in India, which presents a fantastic chance for international cooperation.

He stated, “Everyone wants to work with India now that they know it is a reliable partner, whether they are working on 5G or 6G technologies.”
Additionally, the government is encouraging investment for new telecom companies. Mittal conducted a special meeting session at the Bharat Telecom event with the topic “Bridging Dreams and Funding: Linking Venture Capital/investors to the Future of Startups”.
As part of the session, 26 startups gave presentations on innovative telecom products. More than 10 venture capitalists/ investors participated in the meet. Such measures, according to the government, are evidence of India’s dedication to technical progress and the expansion of the telecom sector.

“…India continues to be the third largest tech start-up ecosystem globally, we need to create new business opportunities for the Indian manufacturers by encouraging the participation of more start-ups,” the secretary added.
