A recent video from UP Traffic Police on social media highlighted a situation where a girl, caught without a helmet, displayed noteworthy resistance.
In the video, traffic police intercepted a girl riding a scooter with her mother on the roadside. The girl, without a helmet, requested the traffic police not to conduct an interview when stopped. In response, the traffic officer clarified that he was not conducting an interview but rather issuing a challan.

Notably, the scooter’s number plate caught attention as it read ‘Papa Gifted.’ When questioned about this by the traffic police, the girl confronted them. The video quickly went viral on social media, prompting a strong backlash in the comment section, where people criticised the entitled behaviour as ‘Papa Ki Pari.’

Numerous initiatives aim to raise awareness, yet despite these efforts, people often continue to exhibit carelessness. Many individuals only comply with safety measures, like wearing helmets, due to the fear of receiving a traffic ticket, even after witnessing numerous accident cases.
Recently, three traffic police zonal officers were suspended following extensive traffic jams on the Delhi-Gurugram expressway until noon on Tuesday. The congestion resulted from a ban on heavy vehicles entering Delhi from Gurugram until noon for Republic Day preparations. Gurugram Traffic Police implemented checkpoints at Pachgaon, IMT Manesar, Kherki Daula, Hero Honda Chowk, and Shankar Chowk, causing significant queues of heavy vehicles near the Sirhaul border.

During the morning peak hours, Delhi Police initiated vehicle checks for those entering the national capital, contributing to the chaos. A significant traffic jam persisted for about four hours, gradually easing around 1 pm. In the evening, commuters once again encountered traffic snarls at the Sirhaul border from Gurugram to Delhi. To alleviate the situation, additional traffic policemen were deployed, and DCP(Traffic) Virender Vij personally reached the Sirhaul border.
