Ashoka University has opened the second round of applications for the Young India Fellowship (YIF) Class of 2025. Established in 2011, this flagship programme aims to provide a year-long residential postgraduate diploma in Liberal Studies.

The curriculum, marked by its multidisciplinary and multidimensional approach, aims to equip 100 outstanding individuals from India and around the world with the skills to become effective leaders and catalysts for 21st-century change, according to an official release.
The university claims that this programme has been instrumental in guiding its fellows towards diverse career paths, spanning the corporate sector, entrepreneurship, higher education, social impact initiatives and professional role transitions. The application deadline for this opportunity is March 4, 2024, the release mentioned.
To ensure inclusivity, the university extends need-based financial aid, offering a fee waiver of up to 100%, covering residence and meals.

Additionally, the Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship is available to 10 outstanding candidates who have excelled in multiple areas and demonstrated leadership qualities. This scholarship covers the entire tuition fee, along with residence and meals. Notably, 68% of fellows in the Class of 2024 received financial aid, as per the release.
“The YIF Class of 2024 welcomed 12 chancellor’s merit scholars, a newly instituted scholarship covering the tuition and residence fee, awarded to exceptional candidates in addition to need-based financial aid. Based on the success of the new initiatives, ‘YIF Crossover Series’ and ‘Alumni-in-Residence’, were redesigned to ensure an even greater experience for upcoming batches,” Aniha Brar, dean, The Young India Fellowship and vice chancellor’s office, said.
Eligibility for the programme extends to candidates of all age groups who have obtained a recognised degree in any discipline by July 2024 or earlier, including final-year students, it added.
