Ajay Devgn will be returning later this year as Amay Patnaik. with Raid 2, a sequel to the box office hit Raid.
Ajay Devgn’s last directorial and acting venture Bholaa didn’t quite work at the box office. But that is not going to deter the veteran actor from expanding his horizons with unique and unconventional scripts. The actor who has previously impressed all with his performance in Raid is eyeing to bring a sequel for the same in collaboration with Rajkumar Gupta, the face behind Raid, No One Killed Jessica, Ghanchakkar and Aamir. Confirming the same, the makers dropped a poster, amping the excitement of fans.
The official X(formerly Twitter) handle of T-Series dropped a poster on Saturday, that featured a pair of legs sporting classy shoes. The text read, “Amay Patnaik is back.” It also revealed the release date of the film i.e. November 15, 2024. The caption stated, ‘The wait is over! Ajay Devgn is back as IRS Officer Amay Patnaik in #Raid2, ready to bring another true case to the big screen on 15th November 2024!. IRS officer Amay Patnaik AKA Ajay Devgn is all set to get a new tip this time! So, are you ready to know whose house will be raided by him this time?”
As per a report by the entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama, the film has gone on floors on January 6. Not only that, it will be shot across multiple places like Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan etc. The film is expected to take forward the legacy of the first film, which was equally loved by critics and the audiences alike.

The first part of the movie was inspired by a real life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department under Indian Revenue Service office in the 1980s. In the movie, Ajay played an honest Income Tax Officer who raids an influential man in Lucknow. The movie received positive reviews from critics and also turned out to be a box office success.
In the meantime, Ajay Devgn is set to star in Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha,’ alongside Tabu. The film, described as a unique musical love story and romantic drama spanning two decades (2002-2023), is scheduled for a multi-language release on April 26, 2024. The soundtrack is composed by M. M Kreem, and the cast includes Saiee Manjrekar and Shantanu Maheshwari.
Currently filming for Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again,’ a part of Shetty’s cop universe, Devgn is set to resume shooting in January 2024. The film features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, and Deepika Padukone and is anticipated in the second week of January.
Ajay Devgn recently appeared on Karan Johar’s Koffee with Karan 8 alongside Rohit Shetty. During the conversation, Devgn shared insights into the past warmth of the Bollywood industry, emphasising the difference in dynamics today, where mutual support and camaraderie were more prevalent.
