The marquee India vs Pakistan clash will be played on June 9 in New York. India and Pakistan are pooled alongside the USA, Ireland and Canada in Group A.
The last time India and Pakistan clashed in a T20 World Cup was at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in 2022 when the two teams produced a thriller and a Virat Kohli masterclass guided the Rohit Sharma-led side to a win for the ages.
England, the defending champions, are in Group B along with Australia, Namibia, Scotland and Oman.
Defending champions England will begin their title defence on Tuesday 4 June in Barbados against Scotland and 2022 finalists, Pakistan, will get their challenge going on Thursday 6 June, when they play the USA in Dallas.
The mega clash between Australia and England will be played on June 8.
It will be the first time that 20 teams will be participating in the mega ICC T20I event as 55 matches will be played.
The top two teams from each group will then progress to a second stage called Super 8 comprising eight teams to be divided into two pools of four each.
The draw for the Super 8 will be announced beforehand with the teams being assigned groups as per their pre-tournament seedings.
If a team outside of the top-eight seedings ends up qualifying for the second round, it will be assigned the Super 8 seeding of the team that they eliminated.
The group stage will be played between 1 June to 18th June.
The second round – the Super 8 stage will begin on 19 June as the last of the stage will be played on 24th June.
The semi-final of the tournament will be played on 26th and 27th June.
