PM Narendra Modi inaugurates redeveloped Ayodhya railway station

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station during his visit to the holy city weeks ahead of the grand consecration ceremony of Ram Temple.

After his arrival, PM Modi held a massive roadshow here and received a thunderous welcome from the locals marking a significant event before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

PM Modi will also inaugurate a newly constructed airport and lay the foundation stones for a slew of development projects for Uttar Pradesh. A large number of people gathered along the roadshow’s route waving, showering flower petals and raising slogans in his praise. PM Modi during his roadshow greeted people from his car and waved back at them.

PM Modi also witnessed performances by cultural troupes along the route. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath in a post on X, said, “Hearty welcome and greetings to respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji in Shri Ayodhya Dham.”

Accompanied by UP CM Adityanath, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and others, PM Modi took a tour of the facility after inaugurating the station.

According to reports, Phase-I of the redeveloped Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station was completed at a cost of more than Rs 240 crore. It is equipped with features such as lifts, escalators, food plazas, shops for puja needs, cloak rooms, child care rooms, waiting halls.

The Prime Minister will also mark his presence in a public programme and will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of development projects worth more than Rs 15,700 crore for Uttar Pradesh.

“These include projects worth about Rs 11,100 crore for the development of ayodhya and its surrounding areas, and projects worth about Rs 4,600 crore related to other works across Uttar Pradesh,” said the press release.
