Petrol, and Diesel Prices on December 26: There is a decline in the prices of crude oil in the international market. Around 6 am on Tuesday, WTI crude was being sold at $ 73.62 per barrel. At the same time, Brent crude has reached $ 79.07 per barrel. Oil marketing companies in the country have released the latest rates of petrol and diesel. In India, fuel prices are revised every morning at 6 am. Before June 2017, price revision was done every 15 days.
In Himachal Pradesh, petrol has become costlier by 33 paise and diesel by 31 paise. Petrol and diesel have become costlier by 22 paise in Maharashtra. Apart from this, petrol and diesel have also become expensive in Punjab, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. On the other hand, in Rajasthan petrol has become cheaper by 51 paise and diesel by 46 paise. Petrol and diesel have become cheaper by 78 paise in Gujarat. The prices of petrol and diesel have also fallen in Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Tripura and Kerala.
At present, petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 96.72 a litre while diesel is being sold at Rs 89.62 a litre. Whereas in Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per litre. While petrol in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 and diesel is Rs 92.76 per litre. On the other hand, petrol is being sold at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24 per litre in Chennai.

In India, oil marketing companies (OMCs) such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum determine petrol and diesel prices. This is done daily, and rates are determined in accordance with the price of crude oil throughout the world.

The rates for each day, whether new or unchanged, are announced at 6 am on the day. These, however, vary from state to state; this is due to criteria such as Value Added Tax (VAT), freight charges, local taxes, etc.
