Yet, the internet recently found itself doubled over in laughter thanks to a street vendor’s ingenious marketing tactic, as unveiled in a viral video.

In the now-viral video, a man skillfully assembles a vegetarian thali featuring high-end dishes such as soya chaap and matar paneer, accompanied by rotis, salad, and even mouth fresheners, all priced at a mere Rs.5. Can you imagine? Amidst the recorder’s persistent inquiries about the feasibility of such a grand spread at such a meagre price, the nonchalant vendor insists that he undertakes this culinary endeavour simply to feed people because, well, why not because the real twist in the tale unfolds after the thali is meticulously prepared and handed over. The vendor reveals the catch – a Rs.5 upfront payment is required to secure the thali, followed by an additional Rs.55 post-indulgence. Voila!

While Rs.60 may seem like a steal for an offbeat dining experience, it’s the vendor’s funny presentation that sent the internet into fits of laughter.

Commenting on the video, one user quipped, “Ya phir yeh typical example hai where you don’t want to pay for what you get?” Another chimed in, “Yeh hai “Bada business” ka successful student.” Meanwhile, a third user humourously declared, “This guy is a graduate in entire political science.”

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first instance of a marketing gimmick seizing the internet’s attention. In a nod to the RBI’s decision to phase out Rs.2000 notes, a meat shop in Delhi’s GTB Nagar decided to capitalise on the situation. A cleverly designed poster featured the ‘pink’ notes, enticing customers to trade in their Rs.2000 bills for goods worth Rs.2100 at Sardar, a Pure Meat Shop in G.T.B Nagar.
