Bengaluru man finds live snail in salad ordered on Swiggy, warns internet to refrain from eating outside in viral post.
If discovering dead insects and reptiles in food wasn’t distressing enough, now live creatures in meals have become an unsettling reality. In a recent incident that deeply disturbed a resident of Bengaluru, a live snail made a shocking appearance in the salad he had ordered online through Swiggy. Completely repulsed, he recorded a video of the incident and shared it on social media, prompting a collective wave of shared disgust.

Dhaval Singh took to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) and Reddit to recount his unfortunate experience, aiming to caution fellow consumers. On ‘X’, Singh posted a video showcasing the mollusk found in his salad from Leon’s Grill. The Bengaluru-based tech professional mentioned that the salad had been delivered via Swiggy, declaring his decision never to order from Leon’s Grill again.
Alongside the video depicting the unsettling sight of a snail emerging from the lettuce, he wrote, “Swiggy, do whatever you can to ensure this sh*t doesn’t happen to others… Bengaluru folks take note.”

In response, @SwiggyCares acknowledged the issue and replied to the post, stating, “Hi Dhaval. That is terrible. Please help us with the order ID, so we can look into it.” It was at this point that the original poster further disclosed, “Customer care is not even offering full refund lol. Forget ensuring anything else… Even the drink was incorrect btw.”

Comments started pouring in, with one person expressing, “That’s outrageous! Now a days Swiggy has become ignorant. Few days ago there delivery executive stole my order & there customer support confirmed the same. They took almost 20 days to refund that too I had to enquire everyday. Ugh! It was irritating.” Another suggested, “Always order from MC Donald and KFC… Don’t trust these local chains restaurant… Hygiene means nothing to them…” A third exclaimed, “Nooo. like whaaaaat?????” echoing the shock felt by many others.
Singh also took to the ‘Bangalore’ subreddit to issue a warning. While he refrained from sharing the video, he expressed his dismay, saying, “Ordered a salad. Had a live fucking snail in the lettuce… Thankfully i noticed it. Never ordering from this place again..Utterly disgusted. Please don’t order if possible from here… Even if you do, be careful when consuming food from outside.”
