Xiaomi just launched the same phone twice, again, the only difference is that this time it’s happening in different markets. Days after re-launching the Redmi Note 13 as the Redmi Note 13R Pro, the company has launched a new phone called the Redmi 13R 5G in home market China which is identical to the recently launched Redmi 13C 5G in every aspect but back panel design. The Redmi 13C 5G was launched globally in India on December 6. The Redmi 13R 5G seems like the Redmi 13C 5G for China.

The Redmi 13R has the exact specifications as the Redmi 13C 5G. It has the same 6.74-inch 720p LCD display with 90Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop-style notch. Under the hood, it has the same MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus processor and the same 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support baked in (10W charger in box). The phone runs the same MIUI 14 software based on Android 13 as well.
For photography, you get a single 50-megapixel camera on the rear and another 5-megapixel camera for selfies.

The only thing that’s changing in this new phone is the back panel design. The Redmi 13R has an updated camera assembly which looks more akin to a Poco phone. You can get it in a choice of black, silver and green, just like the Redmi 13C 5G.
The Redmi 13R 5G comes in sole 4GB.128GB memory configuration at a price of CNY 999 which roughly translates to Rs 11,800.
The Redmi 13C 5G comes in a choice of 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB at a price of Rs 10,999, Rs 12,499 and Rs 14,499 respectively.
