On Thursday, President Droupadi Murmu said that there is a need to make a few changes in the education system of management institutions for the inclusive development of the nation.
She also called for linking artificial intelligence (AI) to management education and said one who knows and uses it properly should not have any fear of losing their job. The President was presenting the ‘Lakshmipat Singhania-IIM Lucknow National Leadership Awards’.
“We have to bring some changes in the education system of our management institutions for more effective and inclusive development of the country,” Murmu said, as reported by PTI.
She has washed the managers, educationists, and organisational heads to connect Indian management studies with Indian companies, consumers, and society.
The President further added that instead of case studies and articles based on foreign business, case studies about Indian and multinational companies based in India should be written and taught to the students.
“Our management institutes should also focus their research on research journals based in India. Special attention should be paid to those Indian journals that are in the open access domain and are accessible to students and researchers of every category,” she said, as reported by PTI.

The President also said that many people are worried about job loss due to technological innovations.

“One who knows AI and uses it properly should not have any fear of losing his job due to AI,” she said.
Further, she called for linking all dimensions of AI with management education.
ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The President also said that entrepreneurship has been given prominence in Indian culture.
“Our youth are adopting the culture of self-employment. India is the third largest startup ecosystem in the world and is named among the best unicorn hubs in the world,” she said, as reported by PTI.

She added that this is an example of management skills and business leadership of the youth of the country apart from their technical knowledge.
