Former chief minister of Telangana and BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao has been admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad’s Somajiguda after sustaining injuries from a fall.

Rao fell down after his leg slipped at his Erravalli farm house on Thursday. He reportedly broke his left hip bone after the fall. He is currently undergoing treatment.

Local reports suggest that doctors will conduct some tests on the former chief minister today. At present, KCR’s health condition is stable.

KCR’s dream to become a first hat-trick chief minister in South India was shattered as the grand old party Congress won the Telangana Assembly polls in a landslide victory.

This was the third election to the Assembly after the formation of new state. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi had come to power in the first two elections and it had hoped to do a hat-trick by winning the polls for a third-time.

In the final tally of the Assembly polls, Congress registered its landslide win with 64 seats, while BRS won 39 seats.

Reports suggest that one of the reasons behind KCR’s defeat was his overconfidence. The leader showed overconfidence by expecting that people will once again take the party on victory path after seeing his rule. And although people have a good opinion of KCR and his government, their opposition against the local MLAs led them to vote out the party.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao had also admitted in an interview that they advised KCR that the party will win 100 seats if new faces are fielded in the polls, instead of the sitting MLAs. The results, however, ended up proving KCR’s mistake of fielding the sitting MLAs.
