Trends in big states like Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan bear testimony that the voters are likely to favour the Modi factor in the 2024 elections.

Though it’s too early to say anything about public leaning for the 2024 polls, it’s too late to not smelling the change in the air.

Rajasthan seems a real disaapointment for the Congress as it is ruling in the state under chief minister Ashok Gehlot.

At the vote couting on Sunday (December 3, 2023), the BJP took the early lead and got hold of it for an early hour when the Congress also appears to flirt with it.

But once the gap between the BJP and the Congress widened, the Congress had a heartbreak, while the BJP supporters were euphoric.

The BJP is in a huge lead at 113 seats, while the Congress is leading at 70 seats. Others are leading at 16 seats.

In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress was expecting a good comeback under the supervision of two ex-CMs Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh, who have worked hard during their campaign.

When the vote counting opened in the morning at 8 am, their hard work seemed to be paid off as the Congress was in contention and upstaged the BJP on a few occasions, but once the BJP raced ahead, the Congress looked just a bridesmaid.

At the time of writing this report, the BJP was in lead at 137 seats, and the Congress was leading at 92 seats.

Others are having a wooden spoon as they were leading at just one seat.

Chhattisgarh can be a real heartbreak for the Congress as the party was expecting to continue its run under chief minister Bhupesh Baghel.

For the first three hours into counting, the Congress maintained a good lead and seemed on the path of victory, but once the BJP intruded into the lead, the Congress could never recover.

The BJP is in lead at 53 seats in the 90-seat assembly. The Congress is leading at 34 seats, while others are ahead on just three seats.

The Congress, however, emerged as a strong force in Telangana, where it is maintaining a considerably lead over BRS.

The Congress is leading at 66 seats in the 1991-MLA assembly, while BRS is leading at 39 seats.

The BJP, who won just one seat at the 2018 assembly elections, also seems to be the biggest gainer after the Congress as the saffron party is leading at nine seats.

The counting for the votes in Mizoram will take place on Monday (December 4).
