The BCCI have released the list of players that will be up for the auctions for the 2024 edition of the Women’s Premier League.
The Auction list for the second edition of the TATA Women’s Premier League is out with the BCCI releasing the list of players who are in the auction pool for the WPL. The auction is set to take place on December 9, 2023, in Mumbai with a total of 165 players in the list of players who are set to go under the hammer.
In the list, there are a total of 104 players that are Indians while the others are the overseas players among which 15 come from the associate nations. Dissecting the list further, 56 of them are capped players while the remaining 109 are uncapped players.

Each team will have a total of 30 slots of which nine will be for the overseas picks.
The highest base price will be for two players, Deandra Dottin representing the West Indies and Kim Garth from Australia who have chosen to be slotted with the top bracket of players.
Four other players on the list will be starting at a base price of 40 Lakhs as well.
Four players are on the auction list with a base price of INR 40 Lakh. The players in the bracket are Annabel Sutherland (AUS), Georgia Wareham (AUS), Amy Jones (ENG), and Shabnim Ismail (SA).

The Gujarat Giants who were led by Sneh Rana in the absence of Beth Mooney have the most slots available with a total of 10 among which three are for the overseas players. They also have a total of 5.95 crores remaining in their salary cap as well.
Delhi Capitals on the other hand who were led by Meg Lanning who won the orange cap as well are the more settled side with only three slots remaining of which one is for an overseas player. They have a total of 2.25 crores in their salary cap remaining as well.
All the sides will look to bolster their squad as best as they possibly can to improve their chances of securing the WPL title.
