Ather Energy is expected to launch the new 450 Apex sometime early next year.
It is no secret that Ather is looking to expand its 450 range of electric scooters. Recently, Tarun Mehta, Co-founder and CEO, Ather Energy, revealed that the company is working on a new flagship model in the 450 series. Mehta has now shared a glimpse of the upcoming e-scooter slated to make its debut sometime next year.
In his latest X (formerly Twitter) post, Mehta has revealed the name of the new model— 450 Apex which will sit on top of the 450 X. Mehta through his social media post claims that the upcoming e-scooter will be the “pinnacle of the 450 platform”. The announcement was made on the occasion of the company’s 10th anniversary.

Ather 450 Apex: Pinnacle of performance
In his previous Tweet, Mehta had revealed the “new iteration is set to be the absolute pinnacle of refined performance.” He further added that the upcoming electric scooter will be loaded with “best-in-class features” and will be worthy of the premium price tag”. Judging by the video shared by Mehta, where experts have tested the upcoming 450 Apex, the scooter seems to offer exhilarating performance.

This scooter is also expected to boast of a limited-run special edition model called Series 2 which is expected to come with completely transparent body panels. This e-scooter was also teased by Mehta on his X handle earlier this month. That said, Ather is tightlipped regarding specifications of the 450 Apex.

More e-scooters in line
Besides 450 Apex, the Bengaluru-based EV startup is working on another family electric scooter for next year which is expected to be more affordable than the current line of models. However, there is no specific information regarding the same as of now. This e-scooter will be low on performance and features keeping the cost in check while maintaining a similar single-charge range.
Earlier in October this year, Ather updated the 450X which now comes with two battery options– 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh. The respective 450X variants are priced at Rs 1.26 lakh and Rs 1.29 lakh. The 450 range starts with the 450S which is available in a single variant and priced at Rs 1.18 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, inclusive of FAME II subsidies).
