Good news for passengers! The Ministry of Railways has extended the service of KSR Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express. This is the 21st semi-high speed train of the country. It was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 27, 2023. It is being maintained and operated by the South Western Railway (SWR) zone.

New route of KSR Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express:-
The national transporter has extended the services of KSR Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express upto Belagavi. This is the second blue and white colour train in the state after MGR Chennai Central–Mysuru Vande Bharat Express.
Distance and Travel Time of KSR Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express:-
The KSR Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 611 km in less than eight hours. This will be the fastest train on the route followed by Rani Chennamma Express and SBC-BGM Express. Both the trains cover the same distance in 09:50 hrs and 10:35 hrs respectively.

Frequency and Coach Composition of KSR Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express:-
The KSR Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week except Tuesday. The train is composed of eight coaches – AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car. It will have a capacity of 530 passengers.

Significance of KSR Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express:-
The extension of KSR Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express upto Belagavi will give a massive impetus to the connectivity in the region. It will also prove to be beneficial for the passengers travelling on the route as it will reduce the travel time by more than an hour. The train has enhanced connectivity between northern and central Karnataka.
Earlier, for the convenience of passengers, the national transporter has extended the routes of two more semi-high speed trains. These are – Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat Express upto Udhna and Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express upto Prayagraj.
