Chinese smartphone brand Infinix is set to launch its new budget smartphone in the Indian market. The company has confirmed to introduce Infinix Smart 8 HD handset on December 8 in the country in four colour options – Crystal Green, Galaxy White, Shiny Gold, and Timber Black.

The successor of Infinix Smart 7 HD, which was introduced in the country in April this year, will arrive with significant upgrades. The Infinix Smart 8 HD’s design features dual rear cameras and an LED flash, arranged in a rectangular camera module at the top left corner of the back panel.
To provide a comfortable grip, the handset will have a textured rear panel. The front camera will be positioned in the center of the display within a hole-punch cutout at the top. The Infinix Smart 8 HD is also confirmed to launch with a 6.6-inch HD+ Sunlight Readable display with 500 Nits peak brightness ensuring optimal visibility even in bright conditions.

The device will also feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and it will come with UFS 2.2 storage and Type C charging. Coming the pricing, the Infinix Smart 8 HD is expected to be priced to below Rs 9,000 in India. However, this is just a speculation and we suggest our readers to wait for the official announcement from the brand.
In related news, according to a report from Counterpoint Research, Tecno, Infinix and Apple emerged as the fastest-growing brands during the quarter. Infinix and Tecno are offering strong base specifications along with a varied model portfolio.
Samsung led the market with a 21 per cent share, followed by Xiaomi (17 per cent) and OPPO (15 per cent). 5G smartphones captured 36 per cent of overall shipments in the region.
Beating the trend, Apple’s shipments increased by 19 per cent YoY during the quarter. Apple is still seeing a strong demand for the iPhone 13 and 14 series, adding to the demand for the newly launched 15 series, according to the report.
