In the broader market, the BSE MidCap index was up 0.3 per cent, and the SmallCap 0.6 per cent.
Sensex Today: The equity market started Friday’s trading session on a cautious note amid tepid cues from global peers. The S&P BSE Sensex opened almost unmoved and was quoting around the 66,000-mark. The NSE Nifty is seen hovering around the 19,800-level for the fourth straight day this morning.

Among the Sensex 30 shares, NTPC, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Finance and Mahindra & Mahindra were few of the early movers, while Bharti Airtel and HCL Technologies looked slippery.

Elsewhere, European markets rose marginally on Thursday even as the ECB’s October meeting minutes showed a more concerned central bank regarding growth and a clear attempt to stick to ‘high for longer’. Energy shares rose as the report suggested the energy bills in the UK were set to rise by 5 per cent.

Global Cues
While the US market was shut overnight for Thanksgiving holiday, and have a truncated trading session later tonight; markets nearer-home in Asia were mixed, with only Japan’s Nikkei firm.
