Anew Google Bard trick lets the chatbot “watch” YouTube videos for you. Considered Google’s answer to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google Bard is still evolving – like most AI tools that have gone viral and received appreciation from its users.

As companies try to outdo each other in the best-chatbot-war, both Google and OpenAI continue to introduce new features to their conversational AIs. A new addition to Bard is its ability to understand and process YouTube video content.
How does Bard ‘watch’ YouTube videos?
The chatbot can now “watch” YouTube videos to gather information for users. This feature may be used for research, food recipes, and to even summarise long videos if you’re in a hurry.
Bard had achieved the ability to understand video content in September, but its full abilities are finally on full display.
“We’re taking the first steps in Bard’s ability to understand YouTube videos. For example, if you’re looking for videos on how to make olive oil cake, you can now also ask how many eggs the recipe in the first video requires,” Google wrote in an update.
“We’ve heard you want deeper engagement with YouTube videos. So we’re expanding the YouTube Extension to understand some video content so you can have a richer conversation with Bard about it,” the company added.

How to user this feature on Bard
There’s not much you need to do in order to use this feature on Google Bard. Simply copy a YouTube video’s link and paste it inside the Bard chat box.
