IRCTC Server Down: Passengers Express Concern As E-Ticket Booking Affected Due To Technical Glitch, Railways Responds

IRCTC officials also confirmed that the E-ticket booking is temporarily affected due to technical reasons. However, the exact technical issue hasn’t been revealed yet.

IRCTC Server Down: Train passengers on Thursday expressed concern as the IRCTC server went down and they could not book their tickets online. However, the Indian Railways quickly responded to the passengers’ query and said the technical team is working on it and booking will made available soon for all.

“The E-ticket booking is temporarily affected due to technical reasons. Technical team is working on it and booking will made available soon,” the Railways said.

Moreover, the IRCTC officials also confirmed that the E-ticket booking is temporarily affected due to technical reasons. However, the exact technical issue hasn’t been revealed yet.

“DUE TO MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY E-TICKETING SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE. PLEASE TRY LATER. FOR CANCELLATION/FILE TDR, PLEASE CALL AT CUSTOMER CARE NO. 14646,0755-6610661 & 0755-4090600 OR MAIL AT [email protected].,” a downtown message on IRCTC’s website said.

it should be noted that the Ministry of Railways recently allowed the Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corp. to go for long-term tenders for a period of seven years through clustering of trains.

Train passengers took to X to complain about the IRCTC server being down at peak time. The passengers said they are facing issues while booking tickets on the web as well as the app.

IRCTC Server Down? Here’s How You Can Book Tickets

Even though the IRCTC server is down, the Indian Railways informed that those trying to book tickets can use other B2C players like Amazin, Moneytrip and others.

“Due to technical reasons, the ticketing service is not available on IRCTC site and App. Technical team of CRIS is resolving the issue. Alternatively tickets can be booked through other B2C players like Amazon, Makemytrip etc.,” IRCTC tweeted.
