Good news awaits the contract workers of Uttar Pradesh Roadways. The salaries of contract drivers and conductors are going to increase from December 1. Now they will get 14 paise more per kilometre.
Also, the salary of more than 30,000 contract workers across the state will increase by Rs 700 to Rs 1000 per month. This development has been announced by Managing Director Masoom Ali Sarwar, who has already issued an order regarding the same.

The Transport Corporation has made yet another revision to the compensation of its conductors and drivers. The amount they were previously paid, which was Rs 1.75 per kilometre, has now been raised to Rs 1.89 per kilometre. The higher payment is going to take effect on December 1, 2023.

According to the corporation, the basic remuneration amount payable to them has been increased. Normal drivers and conductors must cover a distance of 5500 kilometres in a month; with the increase of 14 paise per kilometre, they will receive Rs 700 to 800 more.

Who Are Excluded From The Benefit?
City buses from the Noida region, rural services from the same region, and contract drivers working in rural services from the Kaushambi, Sahibabad, and Loni depots in the NCR region, all depots in the NCR region, Sonauli, Siddharthnagar, and Maharajganj depots near the international border of the Gorakhpur region. Contract drivers and suburban service drivers will not benefit from the increase.
