Now, if you are considering leaving X for this reason or another altogether and want to delete your X account, here, we will tell you how to do the same. But first, you must know that X gives you two options—deactivation and deletion.
It must be noted that deleting an X account is permanent, while deactivation is temporary, but they both essentially are done the same way. Simply put, you first deactivate your account, and this lasts for a period of 30 days. If you choose not to interact or get back to your X account, it will be permanently deleted. If you choose to deactivate, your X account won’t be visible on the platform.
How To Delete X Account On Phone:
- Open your X app and tap on the profile icon in the top left.
- Next, look for Settings and Support > Settings and Privacy.
- Now, look for Your Account and open it > Tap on Deactivate your account.
- X will now inform you about what you should know, with a Deactivate button on the bottom.
- Hit Deactivate and enter your password to confirm.

How To Delete X Account On PC/Web:
- Open the X website and look for More in the menu on the left.
- Now, go to Settings and Support > Settings and Privacy.
- Open Your Account and look for Deactivate your account.
- Hit Deactivate and enter your password to confirm.
Now, once you deactivate your X/Twitter profile, it will be removed from the platform, but it will only be deleted if you choose not to log in for 30 days. So, just don’t log in after deactivation for 30 days, and your account should be deleted forever.
