Petrol, and Diesel Prices on November 20: There is no significant change in the prices of crude oil in the international market today. Around 6 am on Monday morning, WTI crude was being sold at $ 75.95 per barrel. At the same time, Brent crude is trading at $ 80.64 per barrel. Oil marketing companies in the country have released the latest rates of petrol and diesel. In India, fuel prices are revised every morning at 6 am. Before June 2017, price revision was done every 15 days.

In Maharashtra, petrol is being sold with a fall of Rs 1 and diesel by 97 paise. In Himachal Pradesh, petrol has become cheaper by 19 paise and diesel by 17 paise. Apart from this, there is a slight decline in the prices of petrol and diesel in Rajasthan and Jharkhand. In Madhya Pradesh, petrol is being sold costlier by 30 paise and diesel by 28 paise. Petrol and diesel have become costlier in Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat.
Talking about crude oil, its prices are falling again in the last 24 hours in the global market. The price of Brent crude has fallen to $ 80.01 per barrel. The rate of WTI is also running at $75.50 per barrel.
At present, petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 96.72 a litre while diesel is being sold at Rs 89.62 a litre. Whereas in Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per litre. While petrol in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 and diesel is Rs 92.76 per litre. On the other hand, petrol is being sold at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24 per litre in Chennai.
In India, oil marketing companies (OMCs) such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum determine petrol and diesel prices. This is done on a daily basis, and rates are determined in accordance with the price of crude oil throughout the world.
Why do fuel prices vary across states?
The rates for each day, whether new or unchanged, are announced at 6 am on the day. These, however, vary from state to state; this is due to criteria such as Value Added Tax (VAT), freight charges, local taxes, etc.
