Alliance Air has finally launched its direct flight from the picturesque Shimla airport in Himachal Pradesh to the bustling Shri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport.
Commencing operations from November 16, the maiden flight of the ATR 42-seater aircraft gracefully touched down from Shimla yesterday morning, marking the initiation of this promising aerial route.

This exclusive flight service is set to soar the skies thrice a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On its inaugural Thursday, the flight embarked on its journey from Shimla at 8:45 am, landing in Amritsar at 9:45 am. The return flight from Amritsar took off at 10:10 am, making a triumphant return to Shimla at 11:10 am. Nestled 22 km from the city center, Shimla airport resides in Jubbarhatti, welcoming a mere six passengers on its inaugural flight from Shimla. However, the return flight witnessed a notable surge, with 18 passengers bound for the enchanting hill city.

To celebrate this milestone in connectivity, Alliance Air is offering a generous 50 percent discount on tickets throughout the inaugural month. Airline officials have also announced an optimized schedule for the flights, with departure from Shimla at 8:10 am and arrival in Amritsar at 9:10 am. The return journey takes off from Amritsar at 9:35 am, landing back in Shimla at 10:35 am.
