India beat New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semi-final of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, which was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday (November 15). India rode on Virat Kohli’s 50th ODI century and Shreyas Iyer’s 70-ball-105 to first post a total of 397 runs on the board for the loss of four wickets in 50 overs and then dismiss the Kane Williamson-led side for 327 in 48.5 overs. For India, Mohmmed Shami picked up seven wickets for 57 runs in 9.5 overs to register the best-ever bowling figures by an Indian in ODI history.
With a memorable win over the Black Caps, India has secured a place in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023, which will be played on Sunday (November 19) in Ahmedabad.
