Ananya Panday called Aditya Roy Kapur her ‘best friend’ when asked about the dating rumours surrounding them.
Karan Johar confirmed that Ananya Panday is dating Aditya Roy Kapur. The filmmaker made the announcement in the recent episode of Koffee With Karan 8. The new episode featured Ananya and Sara Ali Khan and Karan kicked off the episode by addressing the elephant in the room. He asked Ananya if she is dating Aditya. The Liger star made several attempts to dodge the question but failed.

“Denying your relationships, isn’t that a bit last season?” Karan asked. “I don’t think it is last season, I think it’s forever. You should… I am not saying you should deny your relationships or accept them. You should just do what works for you and I think some things are private and special and it should be kept that way,” she replied.
“So are you in a friend zone with Aditya Roy Kapur or is it more?” Karan asked. “Not friends… We’re friends…” Ananya said, trying to dodge the question but Karan quipped, “Pyaar dosti hai.” Ananya then added, “Best friends, we are really good friends.”
Ananya and Aditya have been rumoured to be dating for a while now. They have been spotted attending the same parties for a while now. They also took holidays together. Photos from their Europe trip had surfaced online and caught internet’s attention. The rumours grew stronger after Ananya and Aditya were seen heading for a holiday around Ananya’s birthday. Although they did not share photos together, it was revealed that they were ringing in her birthday together in Maldives.

Meanwhile, Karan also asked Sara Ali Khan if she is dating Shubman Gill. The actress clarified that the internet has caught the ‘wrong Sara’. She added that she has never dated the cricketer but is friends with him through mutual friends. The episode featured the two actresses speaking about their common ex — Kartik Aaryan.
