The cricketing world knew Glenn Maxwell had incredible six hitting ability and could clear most boundaries in world cricket. What they did not know was the right-hander could clear boundaries with ease while being unable to take singles and get to 201 not out in 128 balls to help Australia chase down 292 runs with three wickets in hand.
It was mind blowing hitting from Maxwell, who put on 202 runs with skipper Pat Cummins and helped the five-time champions chase the score down and qualify for the semifinals of the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup.
Social media bowed down to the all-rounder’s batting exploits. Here are some of the best reactions:
A wonderful knock by @IZadran18 to put Afghanistan in a good position. They started well in the 2nd half and played good cricket for 70 overs but the last 25 overs from @Gmaxi_32 was more than enough to change their fortune.

At 91 for 7, it did not seem like Australia would get to the score of 292 set by Afghanistan. But courtesy a six hitting exhibition, Maxwell ensured that the five-time champions made it to the semifinals.
Maxwell’s place in history just got guaranteed. It has to be the greatest white ball innings played
