However, now WhatsApp is working on a solution to this problem. According to WABetaInfo, the company is testing an Email verification feature that allows users to log in to their accounts using email in addition to their phone number. This new feature will be an addition to the existing verification process and will not replace SMS verification. It will serve as an alternative method to help users log in to their accounts if they are unable to receive the 6-digit OTP via SMS.

WhatsApp’s “Email Verification” feature is currently available in beta versions for Android and iOS. Users can find it in the newly added Account settings section. According to a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, the email verification feature on WhatsApp is easy to set up. It has a field where users can enter their email address. The text next to the field explains that users’ email addresses will not be visible to others, and that the verification system helps them access their WhatsApp accounts. Once users have entered their email addresses, they need to verify them. If users do not verify their email addresses, they will be prompted to do so, and a button will appear that they can click to resend the verification email.

WhatsApp has been testing a new email verification feature for a long time, and the latest beta version 2.23.24.10 update makes it available to more people. While it’s still only available to a small number of people using the beta version of the app, it looks like WhatsApp is getting ready to roll it out to everyone soon.
