To assist people with this, Paytm has introduced a ‘Guaranteed Seat Assistance’ feature for train ticket bookings.
This feature enables users to secure a confirmed seat when booking a train ticket. It provides users with multiple train options to ensure a confirmed booking on their preferred train(s). Additionally, the feature also alleviates concerns for travelers, particularly during festive periods, regarding ticket availability and long waitlists.

According to Paytm, the feature enhances user convenience by recommending alternative train booking options from various nearby boarding stations, thereby increasing the chances of obtaining a confirmed ticket.
How to use book confirmed train ticket on Paytm
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use Paytm Guaranteed Seat Assistance to book a confirmed train ticket:
- Open the Paytm App.
- Search for trains that go to your travel destination.
- If the selected train ticket is on a waitlist, you will see the ‘Alternative Station’ option.
- Explore available ticket options from nearby alternative stations.
- Choose and book your tickets from your preferred boarding station to your travel destination.
- Paytm notes that for train ticket bookings, users can pay with UPI without paying any payment gateway fees. Additionally, users can check the live train running status and PNR status on the Paytm app.

Meanwhile, Paytm is offering multiple discounts on travel bookings as part of its Travel Carnival Sale, running between October 27 and November 5.
Travellers on a budget can save 15 per cent on domestic flights and 10 per cent on international flights during the Travel Carnival Sale, which includes major airlines like IndiGo, Vistara, Air India, Air India Express, SpiceJet, Star Air, and Akasa. These exclusive sale offers are valid only for bookings made during the sale period.
