Wearable phones are no longer a dream as companies have already started showing concept designs of such devices that won’t be needed to carry in your pocket. Earlier this week, Motorola showcased its unique device at a tech event which suggests the future of wearable smartphones is not far anymore.
These days, we are mostly seeing phones that can fold and flip but Motorola is bending ’em like no other brand has done so far. The company has shared a product teaser where the phone wraps around your wrist like a watch, except this device has a giant touch screen lugging along.
The potential of flexible display is more practical with bendable phones, compared to how the concept was showcased many years back. Strapping a phone around your wrist is not a pipe dream, and we have seen it being used in sci-fi shows earlier that have clearly shown us that a future with these devices is not far-fetched.

But the thing with these form factors is that you can use them as a standard smartphone with a 6.9-inch screen when lying flat, or adjust its position to make the screen stand without any external help. Motorola is calling the device with an adaptive display and that definition looks spot on for this product and its use cases.
One of the product teasers also shows the user strapping the phone to take video calls on the wrist, which is definitely better than answering phone calls on a smartwatch with speakers, something we have never liked. Motorola already has the nous in the foldable space with the Moto Razr series, and it even showed its versatility with a rollable phone concept last year.

Now, it has gone one step further with a bendable phone but will we ever see these come to the market? There is no timeline for an official launch or when it will be going into mass production. Having said that, it is good to see the industry innovate and force others to sit up and keep a close eye on these developments.
