In a bid to provide enhanced in-home and small business services, Indian telecom titan, Reliance Jio Infocomm has struck a strategic partnership with Plume, a California-based software company.

What Happened: The alliance seeks to utilise Plume’s cloud platform to serve Reliance Jio’s broad customer base of nearly 200 million across India. Jio intends to introduce ‘HomePass’ and ‘WorkPass’ consumer services powered by Plume’s AI and cloud-based platform. These services comprise adaptive WiFi for entire homes, optimisation of device and application performance, cybersecurity for connected devices, advanced parental controls, and WiFi motion sensing among others.

Additionally, Plume’s ‘Haystack’ Support and Operations Suite will be accessible to Jio’s support and operations teams, enabling a quicker identification and resolution of performance issues, precise detection of network fault locations, and providing insights into the customer experience.
Reliance Jio’s president, Mathew Oommen, expressed that this collaboration would complement the JioFiber and JioAirFiber networks, facilitating AI-enhanced in-home services on both platforms. Echoing similar sentiments, Plume’s chief revenue officer, Adrian Fitzgerald, voiced his belief that their scalable cloud-based solution would boost Jio’s service expansion.
