While he didn’t confirm the exact launch date, we know that the launch is happening soon and could take place this year. The iQOO 12 is launching in China on November 7 and the device is then expected to make its debut in the Indian market after a few weeks.
To recall, the company introduced its iQOO 11 smartphone in China last year in the first week of December. The device made it to India in early January, meaning after a month. So, the same is expected to happen with the iQOO 12. As the launch of this 5G phone is happening in China in November, the India debut could happen in December. But, this is not confirmed yet and iQOO is soon expected to reveal the launch date as it has started teasing the product.
Apart from confirming the existence of the iQOO 12 and announcing its arrival, Marya also confirmed one key feature. It will feature Qualcomm‘s newly released Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is set to power many flagship phones of 2024. He claimed that the iQOO 12 will be the first phone in India to offer this chip to users for a powerful performance.
This also suggests that the company won’t delay the launch of the iQOO 12 and will try to make it available in India very soon after launching it in China.
The rest of the details are yet to be officially revealed by the company. The leaks, though, have given a good glimpse of what to expect in terms of specs from the upcoming iQOO 12 5G phone.
The leaks claim that the iQOO 12 could come with an AMOLED display with 2K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The upcoming iQOO phone is also said to have an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, which will let people unlock the phone even with wet or moist fingers. It is also anticipated to come with a triple rear camera system – a 50-megapixel Omnivision OV50H sensor, a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens featuring the ISOCELL JN1 sensor, and a 64-megapixel sensor with 3X optical zoom as the third camera. We could also see support for 200W fast charging tech and a 5,000mAh battery under the hood.
The iQOO 12 is expected to maintain its competitive pricing strategy, which is one of its core strategies. The company sells phones that offer good performance at an affordable price.
