In the last couple of days, a lot has been reported about Xiaomi‘s upcoming flagship devices, the Xiaomi 14 series. What has been leaving people curious were reports of the company bidding adieu to its OS, the MIUI, and switching to a completely new one. Xiaomi had recently announced the HyperOS, which will be replacing MIUI on its phones. The company had also confirmed that the HyperOS will be making its debut on the Xiaomi 14 series smartphones. However, the company had kept the launch date of the devices under the wraps.
Now, Xiaomi has confirmed the launch date of its upcoming smartphones and it is barely two days away. Yes, you read that right.

Xiaomi 14 series launch date revealed
According to a foneareana report, Xiaomi, announced that its new phones with HyperOS will be arriving on October 26. The devices will be launched during an event in China, which has been planned right after the launch of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The company had also confirmed earlier that the Xiaomi 14 series will come with Leica Summilux lens for enhanced photography performance and will be the fist ones to run on the HyperOS.
Xiaomi introduces HyperOS
Last week, Xiaomi had introduced HyperOS and had confirmed that it will make its debut on Xiaomi 14 series phones. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced the arrival of the new software on social media. However, we don’t know much about the software apart from its name yet. As the launch date approaches, we might find out more about the upcoming OS.
Announcing the upcoming software, Jun wrote on Twitter, “Today marks a historic moment. After years of collective work, our new operating system, #XiaomiHyperOS, is set to make its official debut on #Xiaomi14Series.”
Apart from this, in a post on Weibo, Jun wrote that the upcoming software is “based on the integration of the deeply evolved Android and the self-developed Vela system, completely rewriting the underlying architecture, and preparing a public base for the Internet of Everything for tens of billions of devices and tens of billions of connections in the future.”
It is to be noted that the HyperOS won’t be limited to just smartphones, but will be available across all Xiaomi devices.

Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro expected specs
Coming to the Xiaomi 14 series, it will reportedly consist of two models—the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Pro.
Xiaomi 14 will reportedly have a 6.4-inch screen while the Xiaomi 14 Pro is expected to have a larger, 6.7-inch screen. Both phones are expected to have 1440 x 3200 pixels resolution along with 522 ppi. The phones might also come with Corning Gorilla Glass and a punch-hole notch design. In addition to this, both phones are expected to be powered by the yet-to-be-launched Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Both phones are also said to have one variant- with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage space. Xiaomi reportedly might not launch a 128GB variant for the devices.
However, it is to be noted that at this point, all of these are just rumours. To see the exact launch date of the devices and the specs and features, we must wait for October 26.
