GST, Stock Exchange Transaction Fee: Five Big Financial Changes to Come Into Effect From Nov 1

New Delhi: Starting from GST to laptop import restrictions and increased transactions fee at the Bombay Stock Exchange, you will witness several key financial changes from November 1, 2023. Check full list here:

Big Change in GST For Businesses: As per an advisory from the National Informatics Centre (NIC), businesses with turnover of Rs 100 crore and above will have to upload GST invoices on the e-invoicing portal within 30 days with effect from November 1. The crucial decision was taken by GST authority in September.

Deadline For Laptop Import Restriction Ends: Earlier, the Centre had given relaxation on importing laptops, tablets, personal computers (PCs), and other electronic items falling under the HSN 8741 category till October 30. Even as there is no official announcement about what will happen from November 1, the Centre is expected to reconsider implementing the import restrictions from November 1.

BSE To Increase Transaction Fee On Equity Derivative: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) had last month said that it would increase transaction charges on the equity derivatives segment with effect from November 1. As per the announcement, these changes will primarily be imposed on S&P BSE Sensex Options.

Changes in European Patent Office (EPO): The 10-day rule of the EPO will come to an end from November 1 and as per the present EPO regulations, any communication issued by the agency is assumed to be notified 10 days after the date it bears. As part of the EPO’s digital transformation project, this will no longer apply as of November 1, 2023.

Big Change For Kindle Readers: Amazon earlier announced that it will end the support for files that are supported on Kindle. In an update on its official website, the e-retailer said it won’t support MOBI format from November 1. “This is a final reminder that on November 1, 2023, we will start winding down support for sending MOBI (.mobi, .azw, .prc) files through Send to Kindle,” the Amazon mailer informs. The move from Amazon will impact Kindle users who try to use the feature to send MOBI files via email, Kindle apps on iOS, Android, Windows and Mac.
