In order to provide a seamless travel experience to the public, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), is all set to kickstart the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor Rail Transit System (RRTS) corridor on October 20, 2023.

It has been reported that the decision to introduce the 17-km priority section will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the above-mentioned date. The train will have a priority section between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot, featuring five stations that include Ghaziabad, Sahibabad, Duhai, Guldhar, and Duhai Depot.

Here’s What RAPIDX Trains Makes it Special One
- As per the official details, the train will provide the services between 06:00 am to 11:00 pm only and will run with a maximum speed of 160 kmph, covering its whole length at the same speed. However, officials have also confirmed that the train will maintain an average speed of 100 kmph, still faster than the metro and other passenger trains.
- The fully air-conditioned RAPIDX train, which is considered one of the fastest ones, will have a wide variety of commuter-friendly amenities. The list includes an ergonomically designed 2×2 transverse seating arrangement, wide standing space, enough luggage space with racks, mobile or laptop charging sockets, auto-control ambient lighting system, among others.
- On the safety front, the train will be fully equipped with multiple CCTV cameras, ensuring full safety of passengers on board.
- The train will be available every 15 minutes, allowing the passengers to get on board without wasting much time. The numbers also can be increased, depending on the requirement.
- It has been reported that the management will reserve one coach in every RAPIDX train for women. The dedicated coach will be situated near the premium coach. Amid this, the train will also have reserved seats for women, specially-abled passengers and senior citizens in every coach.

Here’s How to Get Tickets
Interested passengers either can get paper QR code-based tickets from Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) or from Ticket counters. Both options will be available at every station.
In order to make the ticketing process easy, every station will have a dedicated customer care centre, near the AFC gate, which will deal with ticket-related problems.
