A viral video has taken the internet by storm that shows a woman dressed in shorts and Zomato’s red tee driving around the city with a Zomato delivery bag. As she stops at a traffic light, people around her start staring at her and asking her questions.
Seeing the woman, many questions echoed in the minds of people online. But one of the first questions people had in mind been- Is she a delivery executive?
X user Rajiv Mehta dropped the video on October 16 on the microblogging website X (Formerly Twitter) and informed the X users that it was part of Zomato’s Indore marketing head’s plan. He wrote, “Indore #Zomato marketing head had this idea. He hired a model to drive around with an empty Zomato bag for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening. @zomato is on a roll.”

However, now it turns out that Zomato had nothing to do with it. It was all a façade.
Following this video of a woman riding a superbike around the city of Indore while carrying a Zomato delivery bag, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal took to X and cleared the air, stating the company’s stand on this video. He refuted the reports that Zomato hired a woman to drive a motorcycle as a promotional stunt and mentioned that, while there’s nothing wrong with women delivering food, this clip has nothing to do with Zomato.
Cautioning the users, Deepinder Goyal also stated that Zomato never promotes riding vehicles without a helmet.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal tweeted, “Hey! We had absolutely nothing to do with this. We don’t endorse helmet-less biking. Also, we don’t have an “Indore Marketing Head”. This seems to be someone just “free-riding” on our brand.”
“Having said that, there’s nothing wrong with women delivering food—we have hundreds of women who deliver food every day to earn a livelihood for their families, and we are proud of their work ethic,” he added.
Soon after the video went viral, it sparked various reactions, and social media users chimed in to the comment section to express their concern about the woman’s safety, which was in sync with Deepinder’s post as she was risking her life by riding the superbike without a helmet.
