Something similar was expected from his latest film Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue which is based on a real life incident that took place in Raniganj back in 1989. But it seems the audience wasn’t interested in watching the rescue-thriller and gave a big thumbs down to the film.
The film which till Friday afternoon was expected to earn about Rs 3.5 crore as per early trends, as per Sacnilk made only Rs 2.8 crore, which is only a bit better than Akshay’s first release of the year Selfie which made Rs 2.55 crore on day one. Mission Raniganj didn’t even get a decent advance booking, it managed to sell tickets worth only Rs 76 lakh before the start of day 1, the film has mounted on a huge budget of Rs 120 crore.
