Last week, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs A nationwide cleanliness drive will be conducted on October 1 after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for “one hour of shramdaan for swachhata”.
During the 105th episode of Mann ki Baat, earlier this month PM Modi had appealed for “one hour of shramdaan for swachhata” on October 1 by all citizens and called it a ‘swachhanjali’ to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his jayanti.

- PM Modi urged people across the country to come together and take part in the cleanliness drive today at 10 am and stressed that Swachh Bharat is the “collective responsibility of all the family members of the country”.

Let us come together tomorrow at 10 am to dedicate one hour to cleanliness and help us build a bright future for the country,” the prime minister posted on X (formerly Twitter)

- This initiative has been taken up to keep our country clean. We as artists try to create awareness through our art, ” Patnaik said.
- Mumbai is all set to participate in the mega clean-up drive today as part of the Union government’s ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign.
- According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the cleanliness drive will take place in as many as 178 different locations in the city on Sunday.
- These 178 locations include various beaches, markets, religious sites, railway stations and bus stops.
