According to the IMD, isolated to scattered light and moderate rainfall is likely over many parts of the country during the next five days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted substantial rainfall in various regions across India. As per the meteorological department, there is a possibility of significant rainfalls in several states including Maharashtra, Gujarat and Odisha.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over East and adjoining central India in the next three days owing to the Low-Pressure Area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining West Bengal-north Odisha coasts. According to the IMD, isolated to scattered light and moderate rainfall is likely over the rest of the country during the next five days.
Furthermore, the Met Office has issued a Yellow alert and an Orange warning for multiple areas in Odisha due to the expected heavy rainfall.

Region-wise weather forecasts and warnings
East India: As per the latest forecast by IMD, light or moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall along with thunderstorms with isolated heavy rainfall is likely over West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha and Jharkhand on September 20-22. Moreover, isolated very heavy rainfall is expected over Odisha on September 21 and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on September 21-22. Rainfall along with thunderstorms is also likely in parts of Bihar on September 21-23. Additionally, Andaman & Nicobar Islands are likely to witness rainfall from September 22-24.
Northeast India: Light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall/thunderstorm with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur from September 20-23.

Central India: Light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning is likely in various parts of Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and West Madhya Pradesh from September 20-23. Isolated very heavy rainfall is likely in Chhattisgarh on September 21, said IMD.
South India: Light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall expected in parts of Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Kerala will likely experience heavy rainfall on September 20-21. Tamil Nadu can expect rain on September 21-22.
Northwest India: Light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls anticipated in parts of East Uttar Pradesh September 22.
