Are you planning to make changes in your Aadhaar card? Well, then here’s some good news for you. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for free Aadhaar update using documents by three months, i.e., from the earlier date of September 14 to December 14, 2023.

“Based on the positive response from the residents, it is decided to extend the facility for 3 months i.e. from 15.09.2023 to 14.12.2023. Accordingly, the facility for document update shall continue free of cost through myAadhaar portal at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ up to 14.12.2023,” according to an office memorandum issued by UIDAI.
UIDAI has also urged Aadhaar holders of 10 years to update the details with the latest information. According to UIDAI website, “Please update Aadhaar for continues accuracy of demographic information. To update it, upload your proof of identity and proof of address documents.”
However, if update of Aadhaar is done physically at CSC, a charge of Rs 25 will be levied as usual.

How to upload address proof for free
Step 1: Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
Step 2: Login and select ‘Name/Gender/Date of Birth & Address Update’
Step3: Click on ‘Update Aadhaar Online’
Step 4: Select ‘address’ from the list of demographic options and click ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar’
Step 5: upload a scanned copy and enter the required demographic information.
Step 6: Make payment of Rs 25. ( Not required till December 14).
Step 7: A Service Request Number (SRN) will be generated. Save it for tracking status later.

For information about their Aadhaar enrollment or update status, PVC card status or to receive information via sms, residents can call the UIDAI toll-free number 1947, 24 hours a day.
According to the UIDAI website, “Changes in life events such as marriage may lead to residents changing their basic demographic details such as name and address. Address and mobile number could also change due to migration to newer locations. Residents may also want changes in their relative’s details due to changes in life events such marriage, death of a relative etc.
