Bharti Airtel has made significant changes to its recharge plans in recent months. From discontinuing some plans to introducing new ones, the telecom giant is focused on offering plans that meet the needs of its customers. In its latest move, Airtel has launched a new data pack that is specifically designed for users who need unlimited internet access.

Airtel has launched a new Rs 99 Unlimited Data Pack that aims to offer users a flexible and affordable tariff choice while also boosting the Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) for the company. According to Telecom Talk, Airtel is considering data monetisation as a lever to increase ARPU, and as part of this strategy, they have introduced the new Rs 99 Data Pack.

However, it is important to note that Airtel used to provide a Rs 99 plan, which was discontinued earlier this year. It’s essential to clarify that this new plan does not signify a revival of the old one. The newly introduced Rs 99 Unlimited Data Pack is designed as an add-on plan that users can use after exhausting their daily high-speed data limit. This plan offers users unlimited data access for a validity period of 1 day.

Nonetheless, there exists a constraint to the unlimited data provision. The unlimited data is subject to a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 30GB. After 30GB of high-speed data, Airtel users can continue to use unlimited data at 64Kbps. In addition, since it’s a data pack, you will need an active base plan to use its benefits.
In areas with Airtel 5G Plus, users with an Unlimited 5G Benefit and an Airtel Truly Unlimited plan can enjoy unlimited 5G data with no daily limits. However, in non-5G areas, the new Rs. 99 Data Pack is a great option for those using a 4G handset. It offers additional high-speed data for increased data needs or unexpected usage.
In other news, Vi, another major telecom player in India, has announced its exclusive Independence Day offer for prepaid users. The telco is offering 50 GB additional data benefits for all unlimited data recharges priced at or above Rs 199, Valid till August 18, the Additionally, Vodafone Idea customers can avail immediate discounts of Rs 50 and Rs 75 on recharge packs valued at Rs 1,449 and Rs 3,099 respectively.

Airtel’s significant competitor, Jio, has also launched its Independence Day offer on the Rs 2,999 annual recharge plan. This plan includes 2.5GB of daily data, unlimited voice call benefits, and 100 SMS per day for a full year (365 days). Additionally, this plan is eligible to provide users with 5G data access.
As part of the Jio Independence Day Offer 2023, users will receive extra benefits,including:
- Rs 100 discount on Swiggy orders totaling Rs 249 or more.
- Save up to Rs 1,500 on flights booked through Yatra.
- A 15 per cent discount (up to Rs 4,000) on domestic hotel bookings via Yatra.
- Rs 200 discount on orders worth Rs 999 or more for select products on Ajio.
- Users can also claim a 20 percent discount on orders above Rs 999, along with extra NMS Supercash, when shopping on Netmeds.
- The offer also includes a flat 10 percent discount on specific audio products and domestic appliances purchased from Reliance Digital.
