WhatsApp launched 7 major features in 2023 to change user experience
Chat Lock
WhatsApp just recently added the ability to lock your super personal chats. People just need to go to a chat’s profile section and tap on the Chat Lock feature to enable it. You will have to follow this step for every chat, and all the locked chats are added to a folder, which is visible on the top of the screen.
HD Photo qualities
WhatsApp just recently added an option to send high-quality photos to contacts. The HD quality option is only visible when you try to send a large-quality file from WhatsApp. Do keep in mind that WhatsApp doesn’t send photos in their original quality and it still does a bit of image compression. This might be disappointing for users, but you are at least able to send better-quality photos to individuals and groups.
Hide online presence
Users on WhatsApp can also hide their online presence on the app. In simpler terms, no one will be able to know if you are using the messaging app because enabling this option will hide the “online” tag from your account.
Silence unknown calls

Anyone who has your phone number can call you on WhatsApp. But you can block a known phone number or choose to silence calls from unknown callers by changing your privacy settings. Silencing calls from unknown callers means you can focus on conversations that matter to you, while preserving your privacy and preventing unwanted contact.
WhatsApp on multiple phones
WhatsApp finally gave us the ability to use our same WhatsApp account on multiple devices. So, the feature basically works like how you use WhatsApp Web. All you need to do is — suppose you want to run WhatsApp on a different phone. Simply, download WhatsApp on the new device, and while you’re on the screen that says enter your phone number, simply tap the three dots in the top-right and select Link to existing account. After that, scan the QR code from your primary phone, and voila, you can now run the same WhatsApp account on two smartphones. And you can simultaneously do this on 4 different devices, which is pretty cool and handy.
Edit messages
you can now edit sent WhatsApp messages, basically to rectify any mistake or edit your message. To do this, tap and hold on to the message you wish to edit. Now select the ‘Edit’ option from the three-dots menu in the top-right. Make the changes to the text and hit the ‘tick’ option to finalise the changes. Note, you can only edit texts within the first 15 minutes, and there’s going to be an edited tag below the edited message.

Screen sharing
WhatsApp has announced the addition of a new feature. It now allows users to share their phone’s screen during video calls. With this update, WhatsApp is making it easier for users to collaborate on documents, showcase presentations, and more. Moreover, one will also now be able to offer tech support to family and friends with ease. For instance, if your parents need to update something in their phone’s settings, then you can help them do that by using WhatsApp’s video call screen-sharing feature.
