The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) — the issuer of the 12-digit Aadhaar personal identification number — has provided an online facility to allow citizens to update their Aadhaar-related documents online free of cost. Residents can update and upload the documents serving as proofs of identity and address to revalidate their demographic details, especially if the Aadhaar is issued 10 years ago and the details are not updated since.

According to a latest notification by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, it is mandatory for individuals to update their Aadhaar details after 10 years.
You can update your Aadhaar card details offline and online
Residents can update their Aadhaar details in two ways: online and offline. According to the UIDAI, one can easily update their demographic details online, such as name, date of birth and address through the MyAadhaar website, myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
How to update your Aadhaar documents online: A step-by-step guide
Step 1: Click on myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. You will be required to click on ‘Login’.
Step 2: Enter your Aadhaar number and other relevant details. Click on ‘Send OTP’. A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 3: Login and select ‘Update Aadhaar Online’.
Step 4: Read the instructions and click on ‘Proceed to update Aadhaar’.
Step 5: Select the data field you want to update. Do keep in mind you will be required to upload proof of new address to be updated in your Aadhaar card. Click on ‘Proceed to update Aadhaar’.
Step 6: Submit the request if the details are correct.
