We hope CM Arvind Kejriwal will launch the new services soon,” Gahlot added.

The services that are going to be included under the doorstep delivery project are issuance of international driving permit, various certificates issued by the labour department, registration for the Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana, payment of ex-gratia, establishment license from the labour department, change of name in driving licence, vehicle fitness certificate, permit renewal of passenger vehicles and transfer of permit in case of death of the holder, among others.

Launched on September 10, 2018, the scheme currently includes 100 services such as issuance of income, caste and domicile certificates; sewer, water and electricity connections; ration card, drivers licence, drug licence and bus passes from 14 government departments including revenue, transport, DJB, social welfare and food and supplies.

Earlier this year, Delhi government had announced that the number of doorstep services will be increased to 300 so that the Delhiites did not have to waste time, money, and efforts to avail any of these facilities offered by it.

Till March this year, the government has delivered over 5.6 lakh documents to Delhi residents. Under the scheme, the applicants have to call on 1076 to book a service and a mobile sahayak would visit them to collect necessary documents, saving them the hassle of traveling to government offices.

Two manpower agencies – CSC e-Governance and Core Doc2 – have been hired by the government for collecting and uploading the documents through mobile sahayaks.

“The two vendors have helped us scale up and increase efficiency of our services. Some of the operational challenges have also been addressed in the past few months,” said an official.

Officials added that several changes have been made at the backend to improve the services in the past couple of years.
