Vodafone-Idea is still lagging behind in the 5G race due to financial constraints. However, the delay in 5G is not stopping Vi from providing new plans and offers to its users. The telecom operator announced a new prepaid plan on Tuesday for users who need quick data recharge for a short time frame.
Priced at Rs 24 and Rs 49, the new prepaid mobile recharge plans are titled ‘Super Hour’ and ‘Super Day’ data packs. Vi has curated these plans for users who need to use a lot of data in a short period, such as when working on a college project, streaming a TV show, or playing a video game. In such scenarios, prepaid users may run short of their daily data quota and need a quick recharge but cannot purchase expensive add-on data packs.

Vi Super Day plan details
As the name suggests, this plan comes with a validity of 24 hours and offers 6GB high-speed 4G internet data for Rs. 49. This plan offers a data top up for 1 day so users can use the internet data accordingly.
Notably, both the plans do not offer any calling or SMS validity and are data add-on packs. So to use these plans, one should have an active prepaid recharge plan.
“These sachet packs are designed especially for the youth and young adults with heavy data requirement. With this, Vi prepaid users can also enjoy binge-watching movies, streaming videos, listening to music, playing games, surfing, chatting, working or studying without worrying about data exhaustion. Vi customers can also use these packs to play Vi Games, enjoy latest movies and videos on Vi Movies & TV or listen to their favourite numbers on Vi Music on the Vi app,” said Vi in the official statement.
In other news, Vi has reportedly raised the price of its base plan. The telco has decreased the validity of its current base plan, which was previously priced at Rs 99 and offered a validity of 28 days. The new validity of this plan has been reduced to 15 days.
According to a report by Telecom Talk, Vi has made significant changes to its tariff plans in Gujarat, following a similar action taken in Mumbai. In an indirect tariff hike strategy, Vi has reduced the validity of its minimum recharge plans in these regions. The Rs 99 plan, which previously had a validity of 28 days, now offers a validity of 15 days. Similarly, the Rs 128 plan now has a validity of 18 days instead of 28 days. Although the validity has been reduced, the other advantages of these plans remain the same. The Rs 99 plan still offers 200MB of data, talktime worth Rs 99, and excludes SMS.
